Today, Gabor and I discussed with Nathan from ORNL about the biasing system used for Ge, 3He, Plastic, and others. Phong is also a bit familiar with the system (edit also
Shintaro
Go). While there
is supposed to be a manual, Gabor and I did not find it.
In case of trouble: contact Nathan Brewer Gmail: Brewer.nathant@gmail.com Skype: nathan.t.brewer
Log in to high voltage PC:
$ ssh -Y pixie16@10.32.6.161
passwd: ************
For HV readout, run firefox in the background
$ firefox &
You can probably check the history or restore pages, but it should be pointed
at 192.168.13.239
It updates automatically every several seconds. Unless the HV monitor is
running, it may show nothing...
For temperatures:
$ cd ~/DAQ_1/kelvin
$ ./kelvin-read
(there are options to kill all temperatures)
For applying existing HVs (BE CAREFUL!)
$ cd ~/DAQ_1/hv-mpod
$ ./hvmon
If you want to change the voltages (up or down) kill this with Ctrl+C
To alter bias values or change which ones are on, you can edit the file:
$ ~/DAQ_1/include/hvmon.conf
Once the file is saved, restart hvmon.
We are running the above in a GNU screen session, with firefox on one computer. It has a note taped to it. Please don't use this computer for other purposes unless necessary!
Let me note that the PC we log in through has essentially no .screenrc file so you can barely understand you are actually using screen. If you are not very familiar with
screen, better not to touch it. I will put a better .screenrc later (but I also don't want to change the setup now).

Ge voltage application
LN2 filling was done yesterday before lunch
D is the beam left side Ge
MPOD name
U300 D4K
U301 D4R
U302 D4G
U303 D4B
83.7 K, with 300 V
G is the beam right side Ge
MPOD name
U304 G7K
U305 G7R
U306 G7G
U307 G7B
79.6 K with 250 V (except G7R at 300 V)
All analog signals are seen in the oscilloscope with reasonable behavior
28 Mar 2017 15:56:03
Ramp up all Ge clovers.
D at 3000 V for all
G at 2500 V for all (except G7R is 3000)
28 Mar 2017 16:26:39
Biases are all applied (maybe several minutes earlier)
D4 temp 83.7 K
G7 temp 79.6 K
28 Mar 2017 17:51:09
Now we ramp up 3He and plastics. We keep the Ge on during this time.
D4 83.7 K
G7 79.6 K
Everything looks good! |
