Post boot found that it was necessary to manually enable WAN network interface (enp2s0) - perhaps it had been disabled previously?
Started proxy port for remote access via AnyDesk per https://elog.ph.ed.ac.uk/CARME/489 using the command
ssh -L 8080:proxy.gsi.de:8080 carme@atppc02
AnyDesk 978 207 281 now online/available
13.43 carme-gsi moved from 19" rack room to control/counting room (next door)

*yellow* network cable disconnected from YR10/2 patch panel, *green* network cable connected to YR10/2 patch panel

*green* network cable connected to carme-gsi p4p1 network interface (connection to CARME network switch at YR09)
network cable connected from carme-gsi enp2s0 network interface (port #2) to Netgear MS510TXM EXPSW3 port (connection to WAN)
