             aida01 1.8.L pulser peak width  85 ch FWHM ~  65keV FWHM => 5s threshold 138keV
             aida12 1.8.L pulser peak width  58 ch FWHM ~  44keV FWHM => 5s threshold  93keV
             aida02 1.8.L pulser peak width 133 ch FWHM ~ 100keV FWHM => 5s threshold 212keV

             Rate spectra are consistent with these estimates, i.e. observe ~zero rate for p+n channels ( except hot channels ) and low ( ~100-200Hz rate per channel ) for n+n channels

     p+n noise aida12, aida03, aida11 excellent
     for aida10, aida01 & aida09 good - can probably be improved to match aida12 etc
     significant improvement observed for n+n side

16.20 Install LK2 & LK4 aida12, aida03, aida11 ( front & rear field plate ground )

      LK2 & LK4 installed aida3 *only* - OvC

      LK2 installed aida3 *only* - OvC ( LK2 = rear field plate )

      All front & rear field plate connections appear to provide a high resistance short to ground for detector bias. This may be related to issues observed biasing DSSSD via aida01 & aida09 - https://elog.ph.ed.ac.uk/AIDA/874
      But why does it affect aida12 too?

      BigRIPS starts run 3008

01:40 Phong noticed a significant difference in the noise in the (raw) low energy spectra a few of the FEEs when
      comparing the runs right before and right after the power-cycle (See Attachment 12) required to recover
      the DAQ crash last afternoon (June 5th).
      NNAIDA 22, 21, 14, and 13 had a much higher count rate after the power cycle, and what seems like a lower
      threshold. We can't observe the pulser peak in any of those.
      NNAIDA 13 has the highest count rate, and the waveforms show what looks like noise with a regular
      frequency (attachments 4 - 7)

      For reference, we include the waveform of other positive FEEs 8-11

      Despite the large amounts of noise in the detectors it is still possible to observe decay curves. They are
cleaned up a lot
      by applying a multiplicity cut (attachment 22 with attachment 23 without. Further cuts and vetos could be
applied to clean up further.
      The fit in attachment 22 gives a half life of 182ms which is not quite the expected 162ms but a reasonable
first fit.

02.08 Tried updating AIDA SYNC on stats page and got this message.

            See attachment 8

02.16 Runs R1201-1206 are short runs on the 1GeV, each wit the variable degrader thickness changed to alter the depth of implantation (estimated by visual scalar rates per DSSD)

            Started 02.16 - 02.47

02.56 Started R1207 (EURICA run_1407, BigRIPS run 1192).

           Settings file 2016Jun07-05.50.53. All nnaida back to 20MeV setting.

           Temps ok. Leakage currents ok.

           3.68mm variable degrader in + 19.3mm fixed degrader.

           Operator stopped beam @ 03.41. Run stopped.

           Merger outputting some info to terminal re. unexpected header found (attachment 3)

04:05 Beam is back, but some trouble to get AIDA DAQ happy

04:52 Started R1208 (EURICA run_1408, BigRIPS 1193)

           Settings file 2016June07-02.50.53

           From 5:05 to 5:20, F82a, and F51a (twice) trip.  We reduced the F51a from -745 V; -735 V; to -720 V settings.

 06:51 Continued with R1208_19 (EURICA has 1410 begin at 6:40, BigRIPS began 1195 at ~7:00)

          Biases uploaded as attachments 4 and 5

          7:13 data stopped going to disk

          Shortly after that (7:15) operator calls to take control of the beam.

07.40 Beam returned. Some trouble restarting DAQ.

07.56 Run R1209 started.

           Settings file 2016Jun07-02.50.53

           No changes to settings or degraders. Temps ok. Leakage currents ok.

           PPACs tripped repeatedly around 08.10.

09.13 Beam setting changed and run stopped.

           System-wide checks - all FEE64s pass all tests *except* nnaida19 which fails ASIC clock timestamp and SYNC errors not counting

                 i.e. status is unchanged

                nnaida19 merge data link (#18) disabled - see attachment 12

                nnaida19 ReSYNCs OK but timestamp is adrift of other FEE64s - see attachment 11

           Detector biases & leakage currents - OK - see attachments 9-10

1200: Update the FEE firmware on nnaida1-16 without problem.

           Gone from file FEE_Oct12_27Nov13.bin ----> FEE_Riken_Apr14_24.bin

           Included are a screen shot of the temperature window showing the new firmware versions and a stats screen.

12.15 Update MIDAS DAQ software

           su

           cp -r /MIDAS@aiidas /MIDAS@aidas.240214  ( /MIDAS is a link to /MIDAS@aidas )

           exit

           cd <update directory>

           cp -r Data_Acq /MIDAS

           cp -r Merger /MIDAS

           cp -r TclHttpd /MIDAS

           New versions of merge64.AD and master64 were installed in /MIDAS/Merger but the process crashed at startup

           with multiple messages of the type:

           MIDAS Data Link (12345) : Received SEGV signal; exiting.

          (see attachment 3)

          Is this related to the recent changes to the MIDAS TapeServer software to resolve problems with MIDAS Data

          libraries libdataspy.so  and libxfer.so ?

           As a temporary workaround I have copied the backups of merge64.AD and master64 back to the install

           directory /MIDAS/Merger. With the old verison of the merger we continue to obtain error messages

           (see attachments 4-8)
