TD found the merger was running at ~43 Mb/s
The odd-numbered FEE64s all had significant (>200k) disk rates
ALL LEC/MEC fast discriminators and increased slow comparator from 0xa to 0x14
Merger rate dropped to a more nominal value like 2.3 Mb/s
Settings not saved
40Ar beam 300 MeV/u expected, but SIS problem at the moment.
23:00
Leak currents are stable as previously (20-21 Nov) and entered to Google spreadsheet
S4 vault is closed.
Presently AIDA is running without tape storage
System wide checks:
Master clock / aida01 sync reports error as expected;
All white rabbit decoders fail, but they are just off by 1 bit (no problem)
Everything else okay.
Stats look okay, but keep in mind above discriminator threshold -- see attachment 1
Temperatures fine -- see attachment 2
MBS looks okay -- we see a possible hint for the 1 bit difference with an "unexpected data word" -- see attachment 3
Data rate is 1.7 Mb/s, merger okay -- see attachment 4
23:30
Now we wait for the beam
00:05
Attachments 5-11: results of system wide checks after collecting sync errors and WR errors from baseline - all ok

40Ar beam tuning is finished. Intensity at S4 is about 3 kHz per spill. 1 spill per / 10 seconds
MBS system cannot be used for online merging tonight, because NeuLAND group left their connection open
We can merge offline using the White Rabbit timestamps
Remove the beam blocking steel flange from in front of AIDA et al.

Looking at the first attachment..... aida09 has rebooted. So it is not setup at all.
This has caused the NewMerger to hang .... which surprises me .... as I thought it was designed to spot a bad FEE and continue with the rest.
Yes I will have a look today as I'm in Daresbury.

Corrected the failure of FADC re-calibration All modules. The problem was a missing > in the .tml file
Edited the sys.tcl file in /MIDAS/TclHttpd/Html/RunControl to comment out where the status of the waveform enable was able to stop the creation of the .W spectra. This will now function at SETUP.
Edited the sys.tcl file to remove the test for Master module at the enable of the Correlation Scalar readout. All modules will now be enabled.
Successfully re-calibrated the LMK3200 in aida09 to remove the clock fault reported in System Wide Checks.
Successfully "sync ASIC clocks" followed by calibrate all module FADCs ( except aida09 which required seperate attention. )
All the Edits first carried out and tested at Daresbury T9 system. |

TD, JB, CC | Continued of 9th of April |
Disconnected test - pulser from aida08. Noise conditions improved slightly, probably less pulser events. (Attachments 1 & 2).
We recabled the dew point sensor and flow sensor for the water supply interlock to the FEE64s. When we tried to power up the interlock box, the PSU (charging block) LED was blinking indicating an internal power instability. We then plugged each of the sensors out and into the interlock box and found that the flow sensor was the source of the power supply issue.
The HDMI cable of aida04 appears to be broken or wobbly, but the signals still look the same after powering up again. The adaptor board was reseated.
Pulser peak of test - remeasured the peak in aida02 1.8.L and found the same result as before with 118 channels FWHM c. 95-100 keV FWHM energy resolution. (Attachment 3)
bPlast booster boards connected caused dramatic increase in the noise observed in AIDA. Grounding still needs to take place.
TO-DO for 10.04 - 11.04:
- aida04 asic #1 investigate noise
- aida14 asic #1 & asic #2 u/s? replace ASIC mezzanine?
- noise optimisation of aida-bplast -- (friday if BB7 also powered).

Liliana restarted Anydesk on the AIDA DAQ PC. All seemed fine on AIDA DAQ but there was a more generic issue on the main DAQ, possibly the timesorter.
Helena restarted all after ~30mn and it's all working again now.

Paddy was asking us to give a rough estimate for the number of implants per spill.
I zoomed in on the rates histogram (attachment #2) and it looks like roughly 5 implants per channel in SSD 1 and SSD2.
So this is 5*128*2=1280. Note that I don't know the rate window size (e.g., 1 second, 1 spill?) Probably the window does not catch a full spill.
This might be an over-estimate because an implant in SSD2 may leave a signal in SSD1.
Paddy was getting around 1k or 2k fragments per spill, but to first order it seems consistent.

Near R9_372 they slightly opened some FRS slits, as there is a belief we may be blocking some of 94Pd.
